Frankenweenie VHS

I have been really busy with work and school but luckily I had time to visit couple flea markets and second hand shops last week. I found Tim Burton's original Frankenweenie VHS for 1€! I don't think this short film has been ever made into a DVD and since the movie was made in 1984 this could be quite rare, at least in Amazon someone is selling this for $35 and in eBay for $13 + shipping. Also this VHS is in good condition, of course I don't have a VHS player anymore so I have no idea if it actually works. Cool piece in my collection anyway.

Sally the Ragdoll from France

I just came back from Colmar, France. I spent almost a week there as a part of a school project. Nice trip and Colmar was so beautiful!

But back to this blog's topic. While shopping in Colmar I found this little souvenier shop that also had movie stuff and figures. There were mostly stuff from the Tintin, but also few movie figures including this Sally bobblehead. Of course I had to buy it as a souvenier for myself.
It is made by Funko and it's not the best bobblehead figures there are made from The Nightmare Before Christmas movie, but it's not the worst one either. This cost 27€ which is a little bit more than I am usually willing to pay for figures, but I bought it as a souvenier so it was fine and I haven't bought Tim Burton stuff for a long time so...

P.S. I also uploaded more pictures of the Frankenweenie comicbook in my last post as requested, go check them out!

Frankenweenie comicbook

I got this Frankenweenie comicbook as a gift some time ago, I just forgot to put it here. I actually didn't know this was a comicbook before I had it in my hands. It was a very pleasant surprise though because I love comicbooks!

Ichabod Crane

So today I came back home from Budapest, Hungary. The flight left really early in the morning, so I was back at home around mid-day. I actually didn't find that much things to buy from Budapest so we went shopping a little because my husband went to buy this PS3 game he had been wanting for a long time. So we headed to Puolenkuun pelit game store and there I saw this Sleepy Hollow figurine. It had been there for ages and finally they had reduced the price a bit so I bought it.
The figure is made in China by Medicom Toy Co. so the quality is good but I wouldn't say "ultra detail" as the package tells you...

Stick Boy's Festive Season

Once again I got a new item for my collection. This one was a present as well as many other books I have gotten lately. So this is The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories - Stick Boy's Festive Season -edition harcover book. Yes, it is exactly the same book as the other two that I have, only the cover is a bit different and it has this extra title. But as a collector I had to have it anyway.
The pages of this book are the exact same as the other versions, so I won't add photos here. Only the back page of the book with description of Tim Burton with a sketch.

New mini figures!

I have been buying only comics, CD and vinyls lately so I haven't had anything to post here, sorry about that. Anyway about a week ago I got message on Facebook from one person who offered me two The Nightmare Before Christmas trading figures. I didn't have those already so yes, I bought them from her. The package came today so here are some pictures. Figures are surprisingly quite good quality and detailed. I already have Lock & Barrel from the same series but they are not that well made.

This one is Oogie Boogie and the other one Dr. Finkelstein can be found from this post HERE

Actually I do have bit of a crisis with my collection/collecting because I realized that I can't keep getting more and more stuff forever. Someday the whole apartment will be full of my figures, comics and other stuff so unless I buy a huge mansion (which isn't going to happen) there will be a limit to my collection and it scares me a bit.

What will I be if I can't keep collecting stuff for the rest of my life?

P.S I would really love to hear and see pictures about your collections (don't have to be about Tim Burton) so please feel free to link them below :)

Frankenweenie soundtrack

Sorry I have been away for awhile. I was studying abroad for a month so I didn't have a chance to update my blogs at all. But while I was away I got this Frakenweenie soundtrack with music by Danny Elfman. I already got the one called Frankenweenie: Unleashed so now I have 'em both.

Sally the Ragdoll

I bought this Series 1 "Sally and Cooking" -figure by JUN Planning via eBay. It finally arrived today. Shipping was quick and delivery took about 3 weeks which is normal.
The clothes on her are actual fabric and all the limbs are posable. It cames with a stand which is great because some figures come without those and it's really difficult to keep them standing by themselves. Figure is about 20cm tall and it was a bit surprise because I was expecting it to be approx 15cm tall as the action figures usually are. Not that it would be a bad thing no, on the contrary it's great to have figures in different sizes.

New Tim Burton book

I got two books about Tim Burton himself as a birthday present from my parents. And here's the first one: Tim Burton by Antoine De Baecque. It is hardcover and published by Phaidon Press Limited in 2013. The book tells backgrounds of the movies with movie stills, behind the scenes photos and sketches by Tim Burton.

Robot Boy

I was visiting my friends in Kuopio this weekend and there was also this meeting of one FB group I'm in so I met them too and got this amazing meet-up gift: 7,5" Robot Boy vinyl figure!
It was the last one of the Tragic Toys for Boys and Girls figure series by Dark Horse Deluxe I didn't have in my collection but now I've got them all.

TNBC 20 Years Anniversary Edition

I got a birthday present today! My actual birthday is 18th, but this came a bit early. I got The Nightmare Before Christmas storybook by Tim Burton himself. It's 20th anniversary edition and published by Disney Press in 2013. I already have the standard edition of the book so this is great addition to my collection.

New figures from all around the globe

I love these days when you get lots of mail! Today came three new figures, one from the UK, one from Hong Kong and one from Finland.

So lets start with Frankenweenie Collector Pack. I bought it via eBay and it was new in the original box. It came all the way from Hong Kong very quickly. This is my first Frankenweenie figure and it cost me only about 15€ because shipping was free. Now as I got this I started wondering if Victor from Frankenweenie will be Victor from the movie Corpse Bride when he grows up...? They look the same and they have same name.

Corpse Bride mini bust up

This mini figure was found from a Finnish second hand group in Facebook. This is from the same series with Paul the Head Waiter and Corpse Bride & Victor sitting behind the piano. So this Corpse Bride at graveyard mini bust up came in mail today and it costs me 10€ including postage.

Haha, she's a bit cross-eyed!

Batman

I've been purchasing lots of new Tim Burton stuff, so i will be more active here at least for awhile. I bought a Batman PVC bust via a group in Facebook and I received it by mail yesterday. I actually bought it only because it was cheap and I got it quickly. I would say the quality of this small bust is very poor. It's only about 7cm tall and in the back it says ©1989 DC Comics, Inc. BULLY W. / Germany. Anyway at least now I have something other than only the book from Batman movie.

Music from the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I also got mail today (again). I finally got the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -soundtrack CD which I had bought via huuto.net couple weeks ago. I think I still need to find 4 more soundtracks (Batman Returns, Dark Shadows, Beetlejuice and Frankenweenie by Danny Elfman) till I have all of them. Anyway I'm really glad to finally get this one to my collection!

The Pin Cushion Queen

Yay, I finally got this! I got this as a present today. I really love her because she is so depressed and even a bit spooky. This has been on my wishlist for a long time, so I'm very happy to get it to my collection finally. So this is also the tallest of all the figurines of this series.

Jack & Zero

Finally something new! This is my first Tim Burton item for the year 2014. Finnish alternative clothing shop Stuntman had this 40% off sale in their online shop for two days and I found this figure there. With the discount I paid 12 euros + postages for it.
Figurines were quite lot smaller than I thought, but they still look good. These are by Disney. I have few bobbleheads from Disney too. So there is Jack Skellington and Zero with gravestones and they are kind of like two separate figurines. It's not the best quality as you can see, but I knew it and still wanted this for my collection since it's very rare to get items from Finland. Of course I love shopping on eBay, but it is often easier and faster to get items from your own country. Anyway now I promise avoid getting more Jack figures because I have so many of them already and I'd really love getting more variety in my collection. Burton has made many other movies too you know...
