Something new again!

James and the Giant Peach PVC Figurine Collection: Grass Hopper & Centipede (JUN Planning Co.). Made in China in 1996. I bought this via eBay UK for about 40€ including shipping. The item has some damage on the cardboard packing, but it's unopened and in good condition.

There is also second set available of these. The other one includes James, Glowworm and Earthworm. That's next on my purchase list :D

Voodoo Girl Book & Figure Box Set

FINALLY I GOT IT! The last Tragic Toys item that was missing from my collection for ages is now finally mine!

So yesterday I came back hom from a mini vacation in Turku and on my way home went to pick up some packages from post office and there is finally was:

Voodoo Girl Book & Figure Box Set by Dark Horse in 2004. Set includes a Voodoo Girl figure and The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy hardcover book. I bought this via eBay from the USA. It was expensive but I had to have it. In total with selling price, shipping and customs I paid about 65€ for this one.

But now my Tragic Toys collection is complete!

Stick Boy and Match Girl in Love - Note Card and Figure Set

FINALLY IT IS MINE! Stick Boy and Match Girl in Love - Note Card and Figure Set by Dark Horse in 2004. The set includes Stick Boy and Match Girl PVC figures, 8 envelopes, 8 notecards with two different pictures and 2 story cards. Actually there should be only ONE story card according to the ad but the one I bought has two. The "matchbox" is 20cm x 13,5cm x 4cm and the figures are about 10cm tall.
    I bought this from the UK via eBay. I paid 70€ including shipping for this and the TNBC action figure set in the next post. The same seller was also selling the Voodoo Girl Box but I didn't win the auction for that one. So the Voodoo Girl Box is the very last item from the Tragic Toys for Girls and Boys series I still need to hunt down for my collection!

Oyster Boy 8" Vinyl Figure

Oyster Boy 8" Vinyl Figure by Dark Horse Deluxe. I bought this from Kukunor's clearance sale in 2013. These figures are all good quality and nicely detailed.

The Crone

I got this one back in 2014 but here's the more detailed post about it. 

This one came from the U.K. and this is much more horrifying than I expected. This is The Crone from movie Sleepy Hollow. Figure is made by McFarlane and I totally love their figures! This one also is great quality: her hands move, her eyes and tongue move when you pull the "snake tail" -thing on the back of her head. She came with all these accesories you see in the picture. This cost about 10€ including shipping and was definitely worth that money, could have paid even more for it. 
            I was happy to get this since this was my first Sleepy Hollow figure and I had only few other things from the movie before this one.

Ichabod Crane by McFarlane

I just found out that I have complitely forgotten to post about this Sleepy Hollow figure which I have gotten years ago! I actually don't remember anymore where I have bought this, but probably from eBay.

Ichabod Crane figure made by McFarlane in 1999. Comes with  a bag and some accessories. Quite nicely detailed, posable arms, legs, head and waist. Also stands on his own pretty well.

PVC Figurine Collection Set

I also got these with all the items I bought couple days ago. The seller had put these in the same box with the Sally figure so it took some time to find out what these small figures actually were. After searching these on Google I found out that these have all been in the same set. PVC Figurines Collection by JUN Planning. Set includes The Mayor, Oogie Boogie and Zero. So I actually got these for free by accident.

Roy, the Toxic Boy -squishy toy

And another one that has been forgotten. Roy, the Toxic Boy squishy toy. I bought this on eBay last spring. I don't remember the price anymore but probably it was around 25€ including shipping.  
His head is full of liquid gel and the bottom of his body is full of something similar to sand or tiny rocks.

Ichabod Crane

So today I came back home from Budapest, Hungary. The flight left really early in the morning, so I was back at home around mid-day. I actually didn't find that much things to buy from Budapest so we went shopping a little because my husband went to buy this PS3 game he had been wanting for a long time. So we headed to Puolenkuun pelit game store and there I saw this Sleepy Hollow figurine. It had been there for ages and finally they had reduced the price a bit so I bought it.
     The figure is made in China by Medicom Toy Co. so the quality is good but I wouldn't say "ultra detail" as the package tells you...

Robot Boy

I was visiting my friends in Kuopio this weekend and there was also this meeting of one FB group I'm in so I met them too and got this amazing meet-up gift: 7,5" Robot Boy vinyl figure!
It was the last one of the Tragic Toys for Boys and Girls figure series by Dark Horse Deluxe I didn't have in my collection but now I've got them all.

New figures from all around the globe

I love these days when you get lots of mail! Today came three new figures, one from the UK, one from Hong Kong and one from Finland. 

   So lets start with Frankenweenie Collector Pack. I bought it via eBay and it was new in the original box. It came all the way from Hong Kong very quickly. This is my first Frankenweenie figure and it cost me only about 15€ because shipping was free. Now as I got this I started wondering if Victor from Frankenweenie will be Victor from the movie Corpse Bride when he grows up...? They look the same and they have same name.

Yay, I finally got this! I got this as a present today. I really love her because she is so depressed and even a bit spooky. This has been on my wishlist for a long time, so I'm very happy to get it to my collection finally. So this is also the tallest of all the figurines of this series.

The World of Stain Boy

Last week I was browsing Adlibris.com searching for new comicbooks to add on my wishlist. I also searched for Tim Burton and unfortunately they just had added new Tragic Toys figurines... I had to buy one, immediately. I chose to order Stain Boy figure because it was cheapest and I think I will get those other ones too soon. Figure arrived on Thursday so here it is:

I've been thinking what to do with these figures. Should I keep them as they are or should I take them out of their boxes. I decided to take them out since I don't have much space for them and I actually prefer to unbox all the figures so I they can be seen properly.

New Tragic Toys figures!

So anime/manga & movie merch shop Kukunor was having a clear out sale -50% off and of course I had to order everything I could get :D I ordered lots of stuff, but when I got the bill there was only three figures available so I didn't get everything I would have wanted. But anyways I got two lovely Tragic Toys -figures and one Corpse Bride mini bust-up. These figures arrived few weeks ago, but now I have time to update them here. 
          This post is about Roy, the Toxic Boy figure. Made by Dark Horse Deluxe and it is 7" tall. Don't remember how much I paid for this but probably less than 20€.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (part. 2)

So this time it's all my action figures. I love action figures because they are quite detailed, you can move them and of course because they are made to be shown. Unfortunately there are no actual rareties and limited editions, but I have "hunted" these all around the world.

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy // Tragic Toys for Boys & Girls

This time I will show you all the figures I have from Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy. As you might know this isn't a movie, but short stories written and illustrated by Tim Burton. All the poems in the book are cute and sad as you can read from the one above. Every character has it's own sad ending.

Almost all these characters are made into figures by Dark Horse. The series is called Tragic Toys for Boys and Girls. I have been trying to collect these for long time because I really love the book and all the charaters in it I of course needed to have them standing on my shelf. These are really hard to find in Finland and even on eBay these are quite expensive usually.

First package I got for a x-mas present from my uncle. Next to packages I bought from another collector on huuto.net. I was so happy to get more these! The last one I bought from London, England while being on a vacation there last December. So finally I own all of the four packages of these smaller figures :) There are also some of these characters made in bigger size and sold separately each one of them, so I have to get those too...

18" Talking Willy Wonka

Finally I got time to take pictures and update this blog. This time it's the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I would say that this movie isn't so great for collecting because it is not animation and most of the figures of real people are quite dumb looking. As the collectible items I prefer more those made from animations. Anyways I still love the movie.
        18" Talking Willy Wonka by NECA in 2005. His cane is separate and you can move his hands and legs. The figure is made really well and the details are wonderful. Only downside is that he doesn't come with a stand and because his feet are posed like they are he is quite prone to falling over.
        I bought this via huuto.net from another collector and this was a great find since I got it for a bargain with some other items.


He also speaks lines from the movie such as:

• "The waterfall is most important, mixes the chocolate, churns it out, makes it light and frothy."
• "By the way, no other factory in the world mixes its chocolate by waterfall, my dear children."
• "Once again you really shouldn't mumble cause its kinda startin' to bum me out."

Corpse Bride

Okay, so it's time to move on to figures and let's start with Corpse Bride because it is nearest to the computer :D I also got a good reason to clean up the shelves while taking pictures of every item. I clean my figures quite rarely because it not easy and it takes time. But here are the pictures

There is everything I have related to Corpse Bride movie. I buy new stuff from time to time so I will update them all here when I get something new. Mostly I buy these from eBay, huuto.net (Finnish version of eBay), flea markets and from second hand groups in Facebook.
